Pledges become Brothers!

On this unseasonably warm day, April 11th to be exact, AEB chapter of APhiO hosted their annual Food, Frisbee and Fellowship event at the Pavilion behind Northern House. Can Jam was the main event, and brothers had lots of fun playing this classic Frisbee game and, of course, referee-ing all of the throws! Brother Brandon Warren grilled some excellent burgers and hot dogs, which left the grill faster than you can say “cheese, please!”
Before the initiation festivities began, some of our brothers went to the Café Theta Chi event to support our fellow Greek life by buying delicious Starbucks-style lattes, cappuccinos and milkshakes. The proceeds of this event, which counts toward the Fellowship requirements of many brothers, will be received by schools with inadequate funding in their music departments. Many of our brothers who are also involved in choir and band take this initiative to heart, for music plays a central role in our lives. In our opinion, students deserve a well-rounded education, which includes a variety of all art forms.

This evening, the Alpha Epsilon Beta chapter had the honor of accepting 21 new brothers for our Spring 2015 semester! Brother Bri Twigg led the procession of pledges despite having sustained a sprained ankle, and all of the initiates could not contain their excitement at becoming part of our chapter. After the Toast Song concluded this well-attended ceremony, complete with our chapter advisors Dr. Chris Bowers and Ashley Fassinger, and brothers of the APO Zeta Kappa at Bowling Green University, everyone brought out the big Greek letters! Many family pictures, gift-giving and selfies ensued. A great time was had by all, and AEB can say that this chapter is heading in a very positive direction!
Stay tuned for the next installment, and have a wonderful week!
